The soil travels through the vine to the fruit and then to the nose. It is a sense that can identify the soul of a grape. The smell of a wine can strip away preconceived notions that can occur by a causal onlooker of a pretty color or a spiffy label. In essence it offers a “Naked Grape”: exposed and vulnerable to ridicule and snobbery.
The Naked Grape Wine Station’s SMELL is of leather in the conversation room, worn aged cherry and oak in the cellar area and when the patio door is open; the occasional savory scent from Restaurant Fire’s kitchen drift through with a hint of the gulf’s briny waters. It’s a tapestry of aromas that telegraphs "you’re among good friends with kind words".
